Sangerfest 2014

Presented by Pacific Coast Norwegian Singers Association and The Norwegian Male Chorus of Seattle

The Pacific Coast Norwegian Singers Association (PCNSA) will celebrate Sangerfest 2014 featuring THE CHOPPERS Brass Quintet and special guest artists Columbia Children’s Choirs – Bel Canto, alongside choruses from the PCNSA, for an evening of traditional choral music.

Choruses at Sangerfest 2014 will sing variety of classic Norwegian music including: Ja, vi elsker (Norwegian National Anthem), Sangerhilsen (Singer’s Greeting.)  Hil dig, Norge (Hail to you, Norway), and Landkjenning (Landsighting), the song that has closed Sangerfest since the first performance in 1903. Attendees can also expect a variety of contemporary English songs like Lean on Me and Four Strong Winds.

The PCNSA includes a variety of male choruses, including the host group, the Norwegian Male Chorus of Seattle, who will celebrate their 125th anniversary this year, making it the longest continuously active chorus in Seattle and one of the longest in the country.
