Security Screening Policy

Facility Use Policy – Weapons

Marion Oliver McCaw Hall at the Seattle Center utilizes walk-through metal detectors at the public entrances. This state-of-the-art weapons detection system allows patrons to walk through with small bags and without emptying pockets. McCaw Hall is committed to maintaining a safe environment for everyone using the facility. As part of our standard operating policies, prohibited items, including firearms, are not permitted inside the building, regardless of any license or permits unless law enforcement or licensed security personnel are present in an official capacity. Secure storage options are available onsite for your convenience.

We encourage patrons to leave large tote bags and backpacks at home.  Any item larger than a small clutch or wallet may be subject to a security inspection. In addition, please see below a list of common everyday items that may cause metal detector alerts upon entry. It is recommended that you leave these items at home to speed up your event entry.
